A report outlining the recovery programme coordinated by Wairarapa district councils following Cyclones Hale and Gabrielle is now available.
The Wairarapa Recovery Summary Report was developed to record the programme of activities that were led by the Wairarapa Recovery Office (WRO), which was established following the cyclones to coordinate recovery initiatives across the district councils in the region: Masterton, Carterton, and South Wairarapa.
The report was prepared with input from council teams, iwi representatives and stakeholder organisations involved in recovery activities.
Along with details of key initiatives, the report includes learnings from the post-cyclone recovery programme and recommendations for future recovery efforts.
